| Curtis E. Ransom is the President/Owner of CERP Foods, Inc. and has owned and operated as a KFC Franchisee since 1990 with nine (9) KFC locations in the Dallas/Ft. Worth and Austin, Texas markets. Curtis is very active in the KFC franchise system. Prior to starting CERP Foods he held middle and senior management positions in marketing and sales with the C&P Telephone Company, SmithKline Corp., and Pro-Line Corp. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Hampton University, Hampton, VA, and a Master of Science degree in Business from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. Curtis sits on the Board of Trustees, Hampton University, where he is First Vice Chairman of the Board and chairs their investment committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Africare, Washington D.C. Appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry, he is a former Board Member of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. His community involvement includes being a former member of the Board of Trustees for the Dallas Museum of Arts (DMA), former Board member for the Dallas Community College Foundation, Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce and the Dallas Urban League. He is a recipient of the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce 16th Annual Quest for Success Award that honors achievement in business, leadership, and community involvement, Outstanding Texan Award in Business by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, Dallas Metroplex Council of Black Alumni Association HBCU Alumnus of the Year Award and inducted in to Shore Regional High School (New Jersey) Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity-Alpha Epsilon Boule and is a Life member of the NAACP. He has one son, daughter-in-law and three grandsons. |
