Master planning at DFW Airport is an ongoing, continuously evolving effort. It is the responsibility of the DFW Planning Department to guide these efforts to help achieve the Airport’s mission and sustain its status as a world-class airport. DFW’s “Envisioning the Future” website contains a high-level overview of numerous projects and plans for both current and future Airport improvements.
In 2009, the DFW Planning Department completed an update to the Airport Development Plan (ADP) to identify the bold vision to be realized over the 20-year planning horizon. Referred to as “VFR 2030: VISION of the FUTURE. REALIZED,” this effort establishes the roadmap for renewing infrastructure, modernizing the four legacy terminals, and preparing the Airport for the challenges of the future.
