DFW International Airport was recently ranked the top tech-friendly airport in the United States by PCWorld Magazine, a global monthly computer publication. The amenities offered at DFW Airport enabled it to achieve the top position among the country’s top 40 airports.
Overall, a variety different technology features were reviewed by PCWorld to determine the most tech-friendly Airport: average number of electrical outlets, USB ports, charging stations, internet kiosks, work desks per gate, as well as performance of Wi-Fi and cellular service within the facility.
The rankings were then based on those airports that had a highly favorable mix of all of the above services. DFW Airport received consistently high rankings for the majority of the amenities. The magazine said, “no other airport achieves such consistently high scores across so many categories.”
DFW Airport has strategically worked to stay at the forefront of technology and provide our passengers with features such as digital signs, a mobile website, interactive campaigns on foursquare and Facebook and key partnerships. For example, DFW’s partnership with Samsung was a crucial factor in the Airports ranking. Samsung offers charging stations, travel lounges, mobile kiosks, flat-screen televisions at each gate, video walls and more throughout the DFW Airport terminals.
DFW thrilled with the news of this ranking and will continue to advance our terminals to ensure our passengers have the ultimate travel experience. To read the full article and view the complete airport ranking list, click here.
