The Historically Busy Summer Season Projected to End with a Banner Holiday Weekend
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is preparing for its busiest Labor Day Weekend yet, with nearly 1.4 million travelers expected between Thursday, Aug. 29 and Tuesday, Sept. 3. This marks an increase of 6.4% from the same period last year, signaling another milestone in the airport’s historically busy summer season.
"Our newly redesigned mobile app offers all the tools travelers need for a smooth Labor Day journey at DFW," said Ken Buchanan, DFW’s Executive Vice President, Customer Experience and Revenue Management. "With just one click from the home screen, customers can access a variety of features, from prebooked parking to TSA wait times and our airport shuttle tracker, empowering them to make informed, real-time decisions."
The busiest days for the travel period are projected to be Aug. 29, Aug. 30 and Sept. 2, with more than 250,000 passengers each day.
Travelers are reminded to arrive at DFW at least two hours ahead of their flight and are encouraged to book parking online ahead of travel to ensure the best rates and availability.
Before or upon arrival, travelers can check live availability of parking garages and lots, review construction updates for travelers, and view security wait times using the DFW app or website. For added flexibility, American Airlines travelers can park, check in and proceed through security at any of DFW's five terminals. Lastly, customers should check with their airline for the most up-to-date flight information.
