DFW Reaches Major Terminal F Skylink Station Construction Milestone
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has reached a major milestone in the construction of the new Terminal F Skylink Station – all six prefabricated modules have now been successfully lifted into place. The new station will connect Skylink to the future Terminal F. The station was constructed using modular construction, with six structural modules assembled at ground level before being transported and lifted onto the active SkyLink guideway to their final positions. This required the use of heavy-lift crawler crane and extensive preparation. The crane arrived in approximately 60 truckloads and required nearly two weeks to assemble before lifting could begin. The six modules weighed between 210 and 310 tons each, with the 310-ton module weighing about the same as a fully loaded Boeing 777.

DFW Completes Third End-Around Taxiway Ahead of Schedule
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has just completed its Southwest End-Around Taxiway – marking the completion of the airport’s third end-around taxiway. End-around taxiways allow arriving aircraft to taxi around active runways rather than waiting to cross them. By eliminating active runway crossings, the taxiways generate aircraft operating cost savings and reduce passenger travel times. The taxiways also help avoid aircraft stoppages, decreasing taxi times by an average of four minutes per flight as aircraft travel between the runway and gate areas.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and American Airlines open first four new gates as part of Terminal A Pier Expansion
Customers flying to, from and through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) can now enjoy a more modern and improved customer experience at Terminal A with the opening of gates A10, A11, A13 and A15 as part of the Terminal A Pier Expansion project which adds 140K sq. ft. to the existing Terminal A footprint. Last week, American Airlines began operating out of the new gates, which are the first four of 10 total gates planned for the expansion. The full pier expansion is expected to be open for the upcoming winter holiday travel season.

DFW Opens Industry’s Largest Airport Central Receiving and Distribution Center
Last week, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Bradford Airport Logistics celebrated the opening of the airport’s new Central Receiving and Distribution Center (CRDC). Recognized as the industry’s largest airport CRDC, the 90,000 sq. ft. secure logistics facility streamlines how consumable products are delivered to restaurants, retailers, premium spaces and lounges, janitorial and other service providers across all of the airport’s terminals.
