DFW Airport wrapped up the fiscal year in September with a record high total cargo throughput of 984 thousand tons and will finish the calendar year just under 1 million tons as well. This reflected an outstanding achievement and strong community effort from all stakeholders across the cargo ecosystem. As we look forward to a stronger 2022, with the goal of surpassing 1 million tons of total cargo throughput for the first time in DFW Airport’s history, we didn’t want to overlook the dedication and extraordinary achievements of our cargo community. DFW Airport is one of only a few U.S. airports with a dedicated cargo team and we wanted to acknowledge the hard work and cargo community’s commitment to the industry and to DFW. What better way to show our appreciation, and say thank you than with a nice, hot, loaded, baked potato.
The DFW cargo team dedicated two full days to say thank you to all the frontline employees at the AA cargo facility and West Cargo area. When it was all said and done, over 930 gourmet baked potatoes plus 9 pizzas were handed out to warehouse staff, truck drivers, DPS and Fire teams over three work-shifts. Carb Up Cargo!!
A special thanks to The Hot Potato, for great food and to all the teams we had the pleasure of meeting and greeting while we were out and about. Best wishes to all for an even better 2022!!
