DFW Cloud Update

The DFW Cargo Cloud continues to add functionality to help our cargo community become more efficient.  In 2022, we added kiosks to the ground handler lobbies to allow truck drivers to check in for slot appointments as well as book a new appointment if they don’t have one.  In 2023, we’ll be adding status updates and data connections to the ground handlers’ warehouse management systems.  The data connections will allow forwarders to assign AWBs to truckers via the cloud and give the truckers visibility to when cargo is ready for pickup via the status messages from the GHA warehouse management systems.  For truckers, this will give dispatchers a queue of AWBs assigned to them by forwarders that can simply be dragged & dropped into slot appointments once the cargo shows available from the GHA.  The benefits for everyone will be fewer failed attempts for cargo that is not ready and less manual work to type individual AWB numbers into the slot appointments.  Rollout of the new functionality will begin in March, starting with Menzies as the first GHA sharing data.
