You may remember the lyrics of this classic country song by Marty Robbins (or not), a romantic tragedy of unrequited love to die for. Our love for El Paso is not so romantic, but the love for their cargo business is strong and like the dashing cowboy in the song the DFW Airport cargo team came in one night and made a move on El Paso’s cargo shipments. This is where we break from the song and lyrics and get down to business. The DFW cargo team along with members of the community, Sterling Transportation, NCA, DHL Aviation, and AMI rolled into ELP, made sales calls to top freight forwarders, developed stronger business relationships, and capped the evening with a DFW-ELP Night in which we demonstrated to our guests our commitment to partnership with food, beverages and an array of prizes and giveaways. This is not a “one and done” and we will return to the West Texas town of El Paso to further nurture those relationships and to increase the traffic flow from ELP to DFW. The DFW cargo team under Al Kalmbach’s leadership will be organizing other similar events throughout the catchment area such as IAH, DEN, MCO, and AUS. If you would like to join us and participate in the next catchment area “DFW Cargo Night” or if you have any suggestions for where the next catchment area cargo night should take place don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know.
