Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is expected to welcome 4.1 million passengers over the 20-day holiday period starting Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, through Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023. On average, 201,000 passengers will travel through DFW each day. The busiest of these days will be Friday, Dec. 23, Dec. 16, and Dec. 30, 2022. This volume of passengers is about 96% of 2019 holiday passenger travel.
“DFW Airport is ready to warmly welcome our holiday passengers. With over 260 destinations to choose from, we are happy to be a part of our customers’ travel journey to visit loved ones or whatever their holiday plans entail and will strive to provide an elevated experience while in our terminals,” said Chief Executive Officer Sean Donohue. “The large volume of passengers caps off a very successful 2022. In 2023, we look forward to welcoming even more passengers and continuing our growth at DFW.”
We encourage all customers to follow these tips to prepare for a busy holiday season. We recommend that customers arrive at DFW at least two hours before a domestic or international flight to allow ample time for check-in and security screening. We expect our parking garages and lots to be very busy, and Terminals C and D tend to fill up the quickest. For customers flying American Airlines, if you find that parking is unavailable at your departure terminal, you can park, check-in, and check baggage at any of our five terminals. Once checked in, customers can use our Skylink train to connect easily to any other terminal within minutes. Customers can also use the DFW Airport App to find real-time TSA security wait times and the locations of TSA Pre-Check lanes for eligible passengers. As always, customers should check with their airline for the most accurate flight information.
