(DFW AIRPORT, Texas – July 9, 2019) – DFW International Airport along with its partner Emirates Airlines, has introduced one-step biometric boarding on its daily DFW-DXB flight, eliminating the need for a boarding pass at the departure gate. Customers travelling on EK222 have the option of using the biometrics one-step process where they simply arrive at the gate where a tablet takes their photo, matches it to their passport, and then they are cleared to board the aircraft. One-step biometrics boarding is expected to roll out with more airline partners in the near future.
veriScan, developed by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, is a proprietary software that is loaded on a tablet computer. The software encrypts and sends high-resolution photos of passengers boarding international flights to the CBP Traveler Verification Service for nearly instant identity verification. When integrated with airline boarding systems, veriScan streamlines and expedites the boarding process by eliminating the need for boarding passes.
As the Airport examines its current infrastructure and explores further expansion and Airport wide improvements, the implementation of biometrics and technology are at the forefront of all design discussions. DFW will continue to shape the future of travel by identifying the best practices for increasing security and elevating the customer experience.
