Construction Advisory: DFW Construction Closures Begin with Express South Parking and a Section of Terminal C’s Parking Garage

DFW AIRPORT, Texas, September 9, 2024

Express South parking lot is closed, south section of Terminal C parking garage to close Sept. 14

With construction activities increasing around major projects planned at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), closures of various parking and terminal facilities are in effect or have been scheduled.

Parking Updates

The Express South parking lot has closed to prepare for construction activity. In anticipation of the closure, the Remote North parking lot reopened earlier this year to provide additional capacity and return another option for customers.

Separately, the entrance to the Terminal C south parking garage, adjacent to Gates C26 to C39, is scheduled to close Sept. 14 to prepare for demolition and reconstruction of a new, larger garage. The closure will be followed by a 30-day period for parked vehicles to exit the garage. Terminal C’s north and central parking garages will remain open.

Travelers can book parking online, or on the DFW mobile app, to save up to 50% off drive-up prices, and are encouraged to book early to secure the best rates and product availability. Customers booking online retain flexibility with no booking, change or cancellation fees. Customers who prebook parking will also receive directions and best practices to navigate the airport before arrival.

Before or upon arrival to DFW, customers can check live parking availability of terminal, express and remote parking, which includes breakdowns of various terminal parking garage sections.

Terminal C Checkpoint, Check-in and Concession Closures

The first phase of Terminal C’s reconstruction and expansion is underway, which is taking place in the C28 to C33 section of the terminal. As a result of construction, the C30 security checkpoint and adjacent American Airlines check-in counters are closed. Additional closures of gates and concessions are also planned to begin this week in the C28 to C33 area beyond security.

For customers traveling from Terminal C, the security checkpoints and check-in counters at C10 and C21 remain open to access all operational gates in Terminal C, including C35 through C39, which will remain accessible for the duration of the project through a secure corridor. Additionally, both Skylink stations in Terminal C remain operational and accessible and restaurant and shopping options are available in both directions from the project area, including in the C35 to C39 gate area.

Tips and Tools to Navigate Construction

Travelers are reminded to arrive at DFW at least two hours ahead of their flight and are encouraged to download the mobile app on iOS and Android devices, which was recently updated with travel alerts and construction updates, as well as push notifications and customization for travelers who opt in. The DFW mobile app can also be used before or upon arrival to check live availability of parking, view security wait times and explore an interactive terminal map to learn about available restaurants, shopping and amenities.
