DFW AIRPORT, Texas, November 12, 2024
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has been selected as one of the 2024 Texan by Nature 20 (TxN 20) honorees, recognizing the airport’s exceptional commitment to conservation and sustainability. This is the sixth year of the TxN 20 initiative, highlighting outstanding conservation efforts by Texas-based businesses.
DFW was selected as a top honoree following an extensive evaluation process. The TxN team assessed over 2,000 publicly traded and private companies across 12 industries, using a rigorous 17-point scoring system to identify the top 60. A distinguished selection committee of industry leaders then reviewed these companies to determine the final TxN 20 honorees.
In 2023, DFW achieved record growth in passenger traffic and revenue while prioritizing sustainable development. Airport initiatives, including the constructions of the new electric Central Utility Plant and the upcoming reimagining of Terminal C, illustrate DFW’s commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions and advancing sustainable travel.
Texan by Nature’s recognition underscores DFW Airport’s commitment to innovative projects and leadership in conservation, which inspire other organizations. DFW is the largest carbon- neutral airport in the world after becoming the first in North America in 2016.
