Mo was competing her inspection of the Terminal when she noticed a passenger in a wheelchair who was slumped over and had saliva coming from his mouth. Recognizing that the passenger was in distress, MO immediately acted. She approached the passenger and asked if he was alright, but he never responded and then inquired with the family members. They explained that the passenger had vomited on the plane, was feeling unwell and was struggling to breathe. Without hesitation, Mo called EMs for assistance and notified her supervisor. While waiting for help to arrive, Mo stayed with the passenger, offering words of encouragement, rubbing his shoulder, and closely monitoring his breathing to keep him stay alert. When Officer Morgan and Officer Miller arrived, Mo quickly ran to the Skylink platform to retrieve a defibrillator. Upon her return, EMS was already providing CPR to the passenger. The passenger's life was in jeopardy, but thanks to Mo's swift and divisive actions, he was saved. Her quick response, passion for helping passengers and keen observation were crucial in this situation and her timely intervention made all the difference.
In another instance, Mo demonstrated extraordinary dedication to life-saving measures and a remarkable display of courage and quick thinking. During a routine gate sweep, Monique encountered a critical situation where a lady was lying on the floor, surrounded by people. As Monique got closer, it was evident that she was unconscious and in need of immediate help. Without hesitation, Monique checked the lady’s pulse, which was faint. Recognizing the urgency, Monique immediately called 911 and texted her supervisor Naz, for additional assistance. Taking control of the situation, Monique asked the bystanders to move aside to begin chest compressions. While on the phone with the 911 operator, Monique synchronized with their counting to ensure effective CPR until EMS arrived. Thanks to Monique’s swift and decisive actions, the lady received timely medical attention. Upon arrival, EMS took over the life-saving efforts, and Monique stayed to help redirect passengers, ensuring the area remained clear and safe. We commend Monique for her heroic efforts and dedication to the well-being of others. Her actions not only exemplify the highest standards of professionalism but also serve as an inspiration to all.
